Pressing Strings – Radio

What if Jack Johnson didn’t suck? He might sound more like Ben Harper. Or Pressing Strings. Despite meeting as beachhouse roommates and being unjustly compared on occasion to the aforementioned bane of our existence, the Annapolis duo of Josh Kachura and Jordan Sokel rise far above the slack-ass acoustic beach comber movement populated by Johnson and his ilk. Produced by Noel White at Mill Creek Studio, this special pre-release mix of “Radio” from their forthcoming sophomore effort is available only on the Underground Wednesday blog. Featuring Sokel’s distinctive vocals, it blasts the band past the slackers and into the rich songwriting terrain currently occupied by stalwarts like Citizen Cope and Shawn Smith (Brad, Satchel). Look for the new record in February but enjoy this exclusive leak in the meantime.
