Van Meter – Should’ve Been A Weather Girl

van meter Somewhere between Neko and Lucinda lies Jen Van Meter. Having cut her teeth in the Bluegrass, Country, and Old-time Music Program at East Tennesse State University, Jen has released her debut, Should’ve Been A Weather Girl. Impeccably produced by Noel White at Mill Creek Studio in Annapolis and acccompanied by some of the area’s finest musicians (including Ruben Dobbs on guitar, Dave Hadley on pedal steel, the imcomparable Jimmy Jacobs on keys, and the aforementioned Noel White on drums), these torch songs range from slow burns to barn burners. And with its swirling atmospheric build and stunningly beautiful chorus, “Suckerpunch” is the perfect song for the fall.
